Valid and Stretch Money are here to stay with “Sentimental”

Detroit artists Valid and Stretch Money have shared a fresh new single called “Sentimental”. Combining their talents for a vibrant single that feels infectiously bouncy and eclectic, “Sentimental” makes for a strong start to the year for the duo, who are both mainstays in the Detroit music scene.

The production by Chuck Cross on “Sentimental” creates a colorful bed of synths upon which Valid and Stretch Money deliver a series of potent verses, accompanied by singer Kelly Kerr. The artists deliver cohesive performances that work together seamlessly, combining sharply-crafted verses with an ear-worm chorus.

“Sentimental” is unique and refreshing in sound overall, with its idiosyncratic combination of 80s-influenced pop and hip-hop. The song carries a catchy bounce that is difficult to ignore, as it captivates with its energizing grooves and poignant melodies.

If “Sentimental” is any indication, 2023 is about to be a strong year for Valid and Stretch Money. Take a listen to “Sentimental” below and connect with Valid and Stretch Money on social media platforms to watch for updates from them.

About Valid and Stretch Money: Praised by the likes of Icewear Vezzo, Peezy, and Baby Money to name a few, and often deemed as the blueprint of “Detroit street-rap”, Stretch Money is nothing less than a household name in the Motor City. He immediately took over the airwaves, with his everlasting single Take Money to Make Money, and his debut album of the same name is a certified Detroit classic. For over 15 years, Stretch Money has stayed ahead of the curve while continuing to serenade the streets with fresh music and collaborations with Icewear Vezzo, Oba Rowland, Sada Baby, and Cash Kidd amongst others.

Insert Valid. Some would say this Detroit-born MC of Serbian descent is on the completely other side of the spectrum than Stretch Money. Receiving spins on Shade45 from the likes of DJ Premier and Statik Selektah, and collaborating with artists such as Elzhi, Illa J, and Apollo Brown, it would be completely reasonable to assume that Valid and Stretch Money would have nothing in common, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Coming from different cultures and backgrounds but harboring the same love for the music and a high level of mutual respect, Valid and Stretch Money have joined forces to prove there are no boundaries, nor limits to their music or the goals they can accomplish. All while anchoring the attitude of the often-demonized Detroit Bad Boys Basketball squad of the 80s, this unlikely duo has a chip on their shoulder, a bad attitude, and they are out for revenge on those who counted them out. Valid and Stretch Money are Bill & Isiah.
