Hip-hop artist Stanley Turner, better known by his stage name Jel’low, was born and raised in the DMV region of Washington, D.C. The artist has always been passionate in music, and his father’s wide-ranging record collection, which includes everything from Van Halen to Chaka Khan, had a significant impact on him. He started working as a DJ under the name DJ Magnetic after finishing high school. He was introduced to Washington, DC’s thriving nightlife scene as a DJ and later worked there as a promoter and bartender.
He encountered legal issues in 2015 and turned to literature as a means of self-expression. He made the decision to pursue music as a career and started writing and recording in Atlanta. He released his first music video in 2018 and was actively involved in every aspect of its creation.
His father passed away in 2022, which motivated him to promote mental health awareness more.
Despite obstacles, Jel’low keeps making art and using music to communicate it with the world. Every release he makes serves as an indication of his musical prowess, and his most recent re-release, “Boom Boom Boom,” is no exception. He is currently getting ready for a significant PR push for his most recent release and a spring promotional tour.
