Pastel Blank shares hypnotic new single, “Shareholder”

Pastel Blank has dropped off a new single and video, titled “Shareholder”. Art-rock twists and turns into funk-idiosyncrasy with Victoria, BC’s Pastel Blank. Emerging from the vivid indie-rock/post-punk scene endlessly transforming along Canada’s West Coast, Blank was formed in 2019 from lead singer/songwriter Angus Watt’s desire to evoke more dancing within the Victoria indie music community. Citing influence from such genre-blending luminaries as Talking Heads and Women, Blank carries on the torch of jagged, kaleidoscopic guitarwork and off-kilter rhythms fumbling into continuity. His latest offering, “Shareholder”, is a warm, vibrant song with hypnotic grooves that arrives just in time for summer.

Potent and addictive, “Shareholder”‘s blend of balmy guitar licks, rich bass, and punchy, organic sounding percussion make for an enticing listen. He especially steals the show as a vocalist with airy, resonant vocal lines that demonstrate both his range and presence on the microphone. As smooth, sleek grooves build beneath him, his passionate vocals captivate the listener and draw them further into the song’s vibrant atmosphere as its run time continues.

The latest from Pastel Blank, “Shareholder” presents a solid new offering that finds him sounding comfortable and refined within his sound. Give it a listen below and further familiarize yourself with the rising Victoria, Canada artist.
